Scope:

The DoIT Applications Area Codes List (Mainframe) and TWS Area List (client/server) is an official reference for all DoIT Staff. It includes Production and Development area designations.

Requests:

An email request to the "Area Codes Team" must accompany all ADD/DELETE/CHANGE requests.

Add:

ADD requests should specify as much of the following information as possible:

  • The proposed area is Production or Development (i.e., not requiring AP support)
  • Proposed Area Code
  • Effective Date
  • Clarify Queue Name
  • Group (examples would be AP, BFA, DRMT, EMT, EUC, HOSP, HRA, LIRA, MCT, MFTDY, MST, OSA, OSRD, SAA, SDT, SFA)
  • Description/Subsystem
  • Area Technologist(s) (to include name, 3-digit logon, work phone and email address)
  • Customer Application Support (CAS) Contact

ADD requests will be reviewed by someone from the Area Codes Team for potential conflict with system job names, Application Processing job names and OPC/TWS.

ADD requests will include team members from the Help Desk for possible inclusion into Clarify queues.

Change:

CHANGE requests include changes to the support technologists, programmer(s) and/or CAS technicians responsible for an area or a change in an area/list code’s activity status. (NOTE: Changes to the two-character area code itself must be processed as an ADD/DELETE).

CHANGE requests should specify as much of the following information as possible:

  • Area/List Code
  • Clarify Queue Name
  • Effective Date
  • Status Change (from and to dates)

Description of change(s) may include a copy of the Current Area/List Code with changes noted.

Delete:

DELETE requests originate from Doug Grunow from any DoIT area wishing to discontinue an area code and approved by the Area Codes Team.

DELETE requests will include team members from the Help Desk for possible removal of Clarify queues.

Invalid Codes:

Invalid area codes will be noted and followed up with appropriate area technologists, programmer(s) and/or CAS technicians by the Area Codes Team.
