Software Training for Students
Software Training for Students (STS) offers free computer training to registered UW-Madison students. STS strives to offer training that is linked to degree-credit course work or future job placement and helps students stay current with software updates. STS is funded through the Student Information Technology Initiative fee, a portion of student tuition.
All students are required to register with our program to create a user profile. If you are new to STS, please sign up so you can log in to our registration system and enroll in our classes, request online training ID or access our class manuals and files.

Online Training
No time? Go online! More than 200 courses are available online for registered UW Madison students. The courses are provided through a contract between STS and a premiere online training vendor called MindLeaders.
Access to this service is available after logging in to My Software Training. Train yourself in your own home, on your own time, when you need it.
Assistance for Faculty
STS accepts special requests from teaching faculty and staff that are using technology in their degree-credit courses.
If you expect your students to be proficient in a specific application to carry out class assignments, STS will work with you to develop a customized training just for your class.
There is no charge for this service as long as at least eight registered UW-Madison students are the primary learners.
